The Pier 70 Horizontal Improvements Phase I includes: excavation and grading; utility work; streets and sidewalks; three large parks and shoreline work. The site is the historic Bethlehem Steel shipyard and is located on the Southeastern waterfront of the City, just below Mission Bay and encompasses most of the land east of Illinois street to the Bay’s edge, between 20th and 22nd streets. Over the three phases of work, Plant Construction Company will be creating the building pads for seventeen new buildings, both office and residential. Construction began in Summer of 2018 and is ongoing.
